Join the epic training session inspired by the mighty Thor! In this exhilarating superhero workout, you and your kids will harness the power of Asgard and embark on a fitness journey fit for gods.
Warmup
Before we rush into the fray, let's prepare ourselves for this heroic adventure. Remember, it's always important to warm up to prevent injuries and get the best out of your workouts. So let's start with two heroic warmup exercises.
Lightning Strikes
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart Pretend you’re holding Mjolnir, Thor’s mighty hammer, in one hand. Crouch down and quickly jump up and call down a lightning strike, then swap hands. Let's do ten of these.
Thunder Claps
Stand with your feet close together, jump them out to the side, and as you jump out to the side, raise your hands up and give a thunderous clap. Let's do 20 of these.
Main Workout
Now that we’ve finished the warm up, it's time for the main workout. Minstrel, play some music composed by the warrior bards known as ACDC!
Hammer Slams
Grab your imaginary hammer, just like Thor’s Mjolnir, with both hands, hold it high above your head, and slam into the ground. Let's do ten of these.
Thunder Lunges
Step forward with your right leg into a lunge position, and as you lower yourself down, raise your hands up and give a thunderous clap. Then stand back up and do the same thing again with your other leg. Let’s do ten of these on each leg.
Thunder Push-ups
Get ready for an explosive exercise! If you're a child, or you're an adult and don't have the upper body strength yet, you can do this from your knees. Get into a push-up position, lower yourself down, and instead you push up hard and clap, catch yourself, and then do it again. Let's do ten of these.
Storm Planks
Get into a plank position on the floor. Rest on your forearms, engage your core, and hold this position for 20 seconds.
Mjolnir Swings
Grab Mjolnir, your might hammer, in both hands and give a controlled swing to the side, engaging your core. Allow your torso to twist, and then swing to the other side. Let’s do 20 of these.
Cooldown
Great job unleashing your inner god of thunder. But even immortals need to recover. Let's do a cooldown, stretch our muscles and promote recovery and flexibility.
Thunder Leg Stretches
Stretch your right leg out in front of you, bend over forward, reach out, and touch your toes. Hold this stretch for 20 seconds, then swap over to your left leg.
Lightning Shoulder Stretches
Stretch your right arm across your chest, hold your right arm even closer into your chest, right here with your left hand, and hold this for 20 seconds, then swap arms.
